Honors, Awards and Scholarships for Sophmores, Juniors, and Seniors

The College of Business Administration strongly supports the opportunity for superior scholars to participate in the University honors program. Questions concerning this program should be referred to the assistant dean for undergraduate programs, College of Business A dministration.

  • ARDEN L. ALLYN CUP - An engraved cup presented annually, in honor of Arden L. Allyn, to a graduating senior in the college of Business Administration on the basis of scholastic accomplishment (minimum of 3.00 GPA to apply) AND demonstrated leadership in the student organizations and other community activities.
  • DR. CATHERINE AND MICHAEL P. BAKES SCHOLARSHIP - An annual award given to a full-time senior student majoring in Computer Information Systems with a minimum 3.00 cumulative GPA.
  • AKRON/CANTON CHAPTER, SOCIETY OF CPCU SCHOLARSHIP - An annual award to an insurance or finance major with a minimum 3.00 cumulative GPA.
  • CLEVELAND CHAPTER SOCIETY OF CPCU SCHOLARSHIP - An annual $1,000 award to a senior student with a minimum 3.00 GPA who is enrolled full-time in the College of Business, officially accepted to either the Finance or Marketing major, and a concentration or interest in the insurance area.
  • DELTA SIGMA PI SCHOLARSHIP KEY AWARD - A scholarship key presented annually by Delta Sigma Pi, a professional fraternity in commerce and business administration, to the graduating senior with the highest academic average for four years as a student in the College of Business Administration.
  • THE FARMERS INSURANCE GROUP OF COMPANIES SCHOLARSHIP - An annual cash award of $500 for a College of Business Administration sophomore, junior, or senior level student interested in the insurance industry and in one of several business majors related to the field of insurance.
  • GARY GALE MARKETING SCHOLARSHIP - An annual award given to a junior of senior student with a minimum 3.00 cumulative GPA. Priority consideration given to students demonstrating leadership and service to Kent State University and the surrounding community.
  • IMMS SCHOLARSHIP - An annual cash award of $1,000 for a College of Business Administration marketing major with an interest in transportation, logistics and materials management.
  • THOMAS KELLY MEMORIAL - An annual $250 cash award to an outstanding JUNIOR in the College of Business Administration in the Operations Management major. It is presented on the basis of scholastic accomplishment.
  • THE KENNETH NIEMAN SCHOLARSHIP - An annual cash award of $500 for a College of Business Administration senior with a minimum 3.00 GPA, who is enrolled full-time and accepted to either the Accounting or Finance major.
  • NAPM GEORGE E. PRICE SCHOLARSHIP - An annual cash award for $1,000 to a College of Business Administration junior or senior level marketing major who has successfully completed the purchasing management course.
  • THE NANCY MARTIN BECKWITH MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP - An annual cash award of $500 for a College of Business Administration student, with a minimum 3.00 GPA, accepted to the Marketing major, with demonstrated leadership and community service.
  • RIMS - An annual award to a business major interested in insurance/risk management areas. Must have a minimum 3.00 cumulative GPA.
  • SIM SCHOLARSHIP - A cash award of $1,000 to a College of Business Administration student who is working toward a four year or advanced degree in a field that leads to professional employment in the Information Systems or Information Management fields.
  • VICTOR P. GRAVEREAU HONORARY MARKETING SCHOLARSHIP AWARD - A $500 award presented to the College of Business Administration marketing major with the highest scholastic achievement in Marketing, in honor of Victor P. Graverau, Emeritus Professor of Marketing at Kent State University.

Other awards and scholarships are presented by the various academic departments. The Accounting Department offers over 30 scholarships.
