Program Requirements

The following provides a breakdown of the different phases and requirements of Kent State's Ph.D program:

Coursework -- 2 1/2 years

Comprehensive Exams

Dissertation -- 1 - 1 1/2 years (or more, depending on student's effort and topic)

Proficiency Requirements: Students are expected to have taken masters-level courses in statistics, economics, and functional areas of business before entry into the program. Students lacking such coursework may be required to take up to 6 additional courses. Students with MBA degrees from AACSB accredited institutions within the past 10 years can normally expect to meet this requirement.

Full-Time Enrollment Requirement

A student must register for and complete (by receiving a grade) a minimum of 9 hours in each semester in order to satisfy the full-time enrollment requirement.
