Mission Statement
The mission of the Ph.D. program is to prepare students to conduct high quality, scholarly research and to teach effectively in the field of business.
Overview
Doctoral study in business administration at Kent State University prepares highly qualified candidates for positions of professional responsibility in university teaching and research, or administrative and research careers in governmental and private organizations. The program offers a solid balance of teaching experience and preparation for conducting scientific research.

Kent's Ph.D program offers the following concentrations (majors):
- Accounting
- Finance
- Management Systems (MIS, Management, etc)
- Marketing
As part of the Ph.D program, students are required to take a minor in one of the following areas:
- International Economics
- International Business
- Applied Statistics
- Other minor as approved by advisor
Kent's Ph.D in Business Administration program is housed in the Graduate School of Management, which is accredited by AACSB International- The Association to advance Collegiate Schools of Business.
Type of Study: Full-time only
Prerequisites: Most students have completed an MBA degree
Time Required to Complete Program: Approximately 5 years
