Career Services Center and Employment 330.672.2360
Through the Career Services Center (CSC), the Graduate School of Management provides graduates with comprehensive employment search services. Workshops in resume writing, interviewing techniques and job search strategies provide candidates with basic skills for a successful job search. On-campus recruiting and employment visitation programs give candidates opportunities to interview for positions. Each year, approximately 500 employers visit Kent State seeking employees in business and government positions. Some of these companies visit to exclusively interview graduate business students.
The CSC Resource Center houses thousands of employment vacancies for full-time, part-time and internship positions; employer directories and annual reports; electronic job search resources; and a variety of other materials for student and alumni use. Counselors are available by appointment at the CSC to assist with goal setting, needs identification, and problem solving to help them progress in their career development.
As CSC registrants, students and alumni are regularly referred to employers with job openings who are seeking potential employees. The Alumni Job Hotline provides job listings by career interest areas and geographic preferences via touch-tone telephone.
Services Provided
Internships
The Graduate School of Management and CSC actively encourage internships for MBA students. The CSC Internship Opportunities Bulletin is published monthly and students may submit their resume for individual position listings. In addition, the CSC Resource Center has internship guides and directories available for student use.
MBA Alumni Resource Network
In an effort to assist current MBA students in identifying business professionals who are interested in talking with them about their career fields and experiences, the Graduate School of Management created The MBA Alumni Resource Network. This information database is invaluable to students who are seeking career direction and networking opportunities with professionals working in their fields of interest.
Current MBA students and alumni can use the network to locate KSU alumni and initiate contact on their own for the purpose of networking and informational interviewing. The Alumni Resource Network, which contains over 200 alumni listings, is available for use in the Graduate Office.
