Graduate Courses Overview

Course Numbering System

Courses offered primarily for students in the Master of Business Administration, Master of Science in Accounting, and Doctor of Philosophy programs have the Business Administration (BAD) prefix.

Graduate courses offered by the Department of Economics leading to the Master of Arts degree are listed under ECON.

Business administration courses in the 50000 series are intended primarily for nonbusiness graduate students. Those BAD courses in the 60000 series are intended primarily for students in the M.B.A. and M.S. in Accounting programs.

Courses numbered BAD 60000 are open to master's students. Courses numbered BAD 70000 and 80000 are open to doctoral students. Courses numbered BAD 63021 through 63036 and 63039 through 63098 are offered for the Master of Science in Accounting program; these courses are open to M.B.A. students with permission.

Graduate courses in other departments of the University may be taken by graduate students in business administration with the consent of the instructor and approval by the associate dean of the Graduate School of Management.

Occasionally, graduate students in nonbusiness programs are interested in taking course work in the Graduate School of Management as electives. The school limits this course work to M.B.A. electives for which the student meets all prerequisites. Courses classified as executive module or integrative management are limited to students admitted to the Graduate School of Management.
