| General Information
Introduction
The Accounting Association is a student organization that is opened to
all students with the interest in the accounting, information systems,
and finance majors. With the help of a faculty advisor, the elected officers
work to the enhancement of the organization for its members. Some of the
areas of interest provided to members are opportunities to network with
professionals in the accounting, information system, and finance worlds,
member socials, interaction with professors of the Kent State University
Accounting Department, and information to aid members with their careers
here at Kent State.
Activities
Some of the activities that are available for the members are weekly
general meetings that have professional speakers that talk about topics
in the accounting world, social interactions with members of the Accounting
Association and members of other colleges around the state of Ohio, an
annual golf outing, and a year end spring banquet.
All of the social activities that are presented throughout the semester
usually are free to members. If there is a cost, it is the lowest possible
cost for members.
Requirements
There is only one requirement to join the Accounting Association. That
is an interest in the fields of accounting, information systems, and finance.
No matter what GPA of academic standing or grade level, any student can
join our organization. There is a small payment of dues that can be handled
per semester or for the whole year that covers costs of activities and
food provided to its members.
The due requirements can be paid either on a yearly basis or a semester
basis. If a member wishes to pay the yearly price it is $40.00 and the
semester price is the low rate of $25.00. Payment can either be made by
check or cash. There are installment plans available to members. Please
contact the Treasurer for more information.
