A brief history of the prestigious journal: Review of Futures Markets
In 1978, Dr. Lloyd Besant, director of the CBOT's Education Department, first published the papers in a new journal, Review of Research in Futures Markets. Patrick Catania, Dr. Besant's successor, continued the Chicago Board of Trade's research seminars and strengthened the editorial process of the journal. Papers submitted to RFM were peer-reviewed, and the journal's name was changed to Review of Futures Markets; he also expanded the range of the seminars, to Europe, with the first European Research Symposium held in 1988, and then to the Pacific Rim in 1990, with the Asia Pacific Futures Research Symposium.
Today, with the agreement and support of the Chicago Board of Trade, Review of Futures Markets was published under the auspices of Kent State University. Review of Futures Markets, issued quarterly, publishes peer-reviewed, editor selected articles that expand the literature of futures, options, and derivatives research. Selected articles presented at the annual Asia-Pacific Futures Research Symposium are also published.
