Accounting Advisory Council - Purpose
The Accounting Advisory Council is a group of individuals made up of faculty members, members of the business and professional accounting community, and Kent State University administrators, who meet on a regular basis (usually quarterly) to discuss matters that impact the ability of accounting majors at KSU to become professionals with an expertise in accounting. The Accounting Department relies on this Council to:
(1) provide information on the professional attributes and knowledge that our Accounting majors need to pursue a successful career;
(2) review the accounting curriculum periodically and make recommendations for curriculum changes which will improve the quality of the accounting program;
(3) assist in improving public relations and communications between the Department and the community; and
(4) review of legislative and administrative issues impacting the accounting program or accounting in general.
