Biographical Sketch DANIEL E. KLIMAS Daniel E. Klimas serves as executive vice president for the Private Banking and Investing Group within Key PrivateBank at KeyCorp. Key PrivateBank serves wealthy individuals across several service delivery tiers. Private Banking and Investing has developed an integrated sales force focused around the needs of affluent customers. Through systematic sales management, sales planning, training and compensation, the group provides "seamless" delivery of all bank products including credit, fiduciary, investment and transaction products through a relationship management approach. Dan joined the former Society Corporation, now KeyCorp, in June 1988 after seven years with the Cleveland office of McKinsey & Coompany, a management consulting firm, during which he was elected senior vice president of the management company and appointed electronic banking manager which included responsibility for retailer services. He was also elected president of the Green Machine Network, a shared ATM network comprising more that 100 banks, savings and loans and credit unions. He held that post until November 1989 when he was elected chairman and chief executive officer of Green Machine. In October 1989 he was given the additional responsibility for retail product management. In May 1990 he took on responsibility for bank card services. In January 1991, he was elected president of the Cuyahoga East District where he coordinated and directed the activities of the Consumer and Business Banking groups (branch administration, mortgage loans, consumer lending and private banking) in the East District. He also had shared responsibility for commercial banking activities in the District. In January 1993, Dan was elected senior vice president and Retail Center executive. He assumed his current position in April 1993. Dan majored in operations research and computer science at Kent State University where he received his bachelor of business administration degree in 1979. He also earned his MBA there in 1981. |
