DR. LAWRENCE J. MARKS
Associate Dean
Prior to becoming Associate Dean in July 1996, Dr. Marks had served
as chairperson of the Marketing Department for five years. He
has wide ranging research interests in the area of advertising
effects, having investigated the effects of context, presentation
order, puffery, country-of-origin claims, and repetition of advertising
on consumers' processing of advertising. He has also worked with
Dr. Michael Mayo on the development and testing of models of marketing
and consumer ethical decision making. Dr. Marks' work has appeared
in The Journal of Advertising, The Journal of the Academy of Marketing
Science, International Marketing Review, and The Journal of Marketing
Research, and has been discussed in the Wall Street Journal. He
is listed in Who's Who in Advertising. His professional experience
includes computer sales, marketing research and sales forecasting,
and consulting.
