Lee McMannis is the Entrepreneur in Residence for 2007-08


Lee, a KSU graduate, has enjoyed over thirty-five years of entrepreneurial challenges leading the family race and off-road tire business from its early stage to a global marketing force, then engineered its sale to a billion dollar multinational.  Holder of two patents in the competitive tire industry, Lee now concentrates his efforts in developing the entrepreneurial spirit in others.


Entrepreneurial Lab



The Entrepreneurial Lab offers Innovative, experiential learning opportunities for the students as well as providing a significant service for the business community.  The Lab builds and sustains long term relationships with students, entrepreneurs and economic development organizations.  It focuses on supporting innovation and entrepreneurship.


Students participating in the Entrepreneurial Lab will:

  • Assist area businesses with short-term challenges:
    • Writing a business plan
    • Determining pricing structure
    • Creating marketing plans
    • Developing a merchandising strategy
    • Particpating in short-term projects

The Lab experience will consists of a partnership between student/faculty/business owner/Entrepreneur in Residence.

This talented team will meet to determine the scope of the project.  Once the projects has been outlined, the student(s) will work exclusively with the business owner through the completion of the project.  Faculty and the Entrepreneur in Residence will be available; however, the Lab experience provides the student 'real-life' work experience.
